The Edge of Disintegration - Coral

Christine Wilkinson describes the work in this series as follows:

The works in the Disintegration series began in 2014 with a nondescript photograph of a sheet of bubble wrap. The idea was to abstract/recycle/disintegrate the image incrementally over time until it bore no resemblance to the original photograph.

Along the way two very different and distinct strands developed: One highlighted the process of disintegration ... pixels visible and crumbling, colours delicate and ethereal. The other was solid, firm, hard-edged and monochrome. Fast forward to 2021 (seven years and many images later) and hereare just some of the results - two very different series originating from the same photograph
