Red Girling studied Architecture at Glasgow School of Art and became a full time artist after several years in architectural practice.
The built environment inspires her abstract collages particularly her love of concrete and Brutalist Architecture.
Red employs a range of processes to create her beautiful Abstract pieces including the use of nit combs, tea and mixed media processes in order to develop texture within the flattened shapes.
Each original piece is laboured intensively over time, as colours and textures are layered over each other to create beautiful compositions when they are collaged together.
Red is also a Printmaker and Illustrator living and working in London.
