Kim Gorman

Kim Gorman, a graduate from London College of Fashion has been working in London as an Artist and glass designer-maker since the mid 1990s. Kim became interested in glass and it’s application whilst studying fashion, leading her to pursue training. Since completing her glassmaker training she has produced many stained glass commissions for private clients. Her collection has developed over the years from traditional and functional stained glass panels to more sculptural works. Gorman’s recent Scandinavian style decorative platters have been developed through her ongoing love affair with knitting and collection of vintage knitting patterns. With her most recent pieces, she uses strips of glass like wool, weaving intricate shapes, stacking striking colours to form stunning geometric designs. This glass-knitting process is hugely labour intensive and the efforts really come into fruition when her work is kilned and finished as beautiful high-quality functional art.
