Jo de Pear

Jo de Pear is a professional British print maker. She studied for her BA at Edinburgh College of Art and her MA in Printmaking at Chelsea, London. She uses all of the varied printmaking disciplines, often combining two or three to create her semi-abstracted images. She lives and works in London and Antigua
Since 2017 Jo de Pear has been experimenting with cyanotype print processes whilst staying on the island of Antigua. The geographical position of the island means that the strength of the sunshine enables the process to develop strong graphic reproductions.
Jo has been experimenting with the print process, working with the island’s flora and fauna to create striking graphic images. Rather like using the sunshine as a photographic enlarger, Jo has played with exposure times and moving the subject matter during the process, resulting in subtle tonal variations.
Jo de Pear’s work has been purchased and commissioned for numerous high end interior design projects and continues to experiment with the potential for printmaking beyond the cyanotype process.
